Heating, Ventilating and Airconditioning (HVAC) technicians provide a climate-controlled commercial, residential and industrial buildings. They are responsible for controlling the humidity, temperature and air quality in these areas.

Most HVAC mechanics and technicians obtain their training in technical and trade schools, community colleges which can take between 6 months and 2 years to complete or through apprenticeship programs. The Armed Forces also provide good training for HVAC technicians. The annual average salary of HVAC technician is $42,200.


Medical Assistants

A medical assistant's job usually involve a combination of administrative and clinical tasks. Administrative duties include filling out insurance forms, arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services, scheduling appointments, answering telephones, handle billing and housekeeping. Some of the medical assistant's clinical duties are recording vital signs, taking medical histories, assisting the physician during examination and other basic clinical tasks.

There are a number of vocational-technical highschools, post secondary vocational schools and community colleges that offer programs in medical assisting. Although graduates of a formal program are usually preferred, it is not a requirement. At least a highschool diploma is needed and many medical assistants get their training on the job.

There is a positive outlook for this job as employment is expected to rise 34 percent through 2018. The annual average salary of medical assistant is $23,000 to $31,000.
